HERVEY BAY - first stop (29.11.)

Updated: Dec 4, 2019

Today my journey started. In the morning I went from Toowoomba to Brisbane (2h). I had to wait there half an hour for the next bus, which goes over several stops to Hervey bay. The journey took about 8 hours. But on the way I could see a lot of beautiful landscapes, e.g. some national parks, forests, coast, agriculturally used areas and so on. We stopped for example at the Sunshine Coast, in Noosa, Rainbow beach and tin can bay. The trip didn't get boring because you always had a great view. At 6.30pm I finally arrived in Hervey bay, a city in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland. From the bus station a free shuttle picked me up, which was offered by my hostel YHA Colonial village. This hostel is not located directly in the city but at the boat harbour and quiet beaches, which is about 7km away. if you want a quiet holiday, this is exactly the right thing. the hostel complex looks like a small jungle, it is very beautifully designed with natural pond, swimming pool, bistro, lounge areas, laundry, tennis and basketball court, table tennis and two kitchens. I had a 4 shared female room, there are single beds with a private bathroom, it was really tidy and clean. in the morning i even saw a peacock on my terrace. Hervey bay itself has a large industrial area, lots of shops, many cafes and fish restaurants on the esplanade, a bridge, and `Urangan` street markets.

If you want a relaxing holiday on the beach, this is the place for you.

I kind of missed the photos of Toowoomba on your way to Hervey Bay... I thought there are also beautiful landscapes and especially houses.
